Cayucos, CA

We got to spend the week after Christmas on the Central California coast with Will's side of the family. Clara loved watching and playing with her cousins!

The girls enjoying the afternoon sun on the beach.
We had a crab feed for New Year's Eve. It was awesome!

In Cayucos it's an annual tradition to do a polar bear plunge New Year's morning. The water was a lovely 58 degrees. Will and I may just be crazy enough to do it next year.

More Christmas

Just a few pics of the family at Christmas...

Grandma and Grandpa Newman

Uncle Abe

We tried to put Clara in a beanie too but she didn't want to keep it on so we gave up!

The Newman/Bunker clan at church on Christmas Sunday.

Baby's First Christmas

Clara loved her first Christmas! She had a great time opening presents. As soon as she had them open they all went right in her mouth.

She made out like a bandit. Our living room looked like a toy store.

Here she is wearing the perfect Christmas morning outfit...a santa onesie, Uggs and her elf hat(thanks Auntie Sarah).

Clara helped mom decorate the tree. Here she is hanging up her first ornament.

Building with Dad

Santa came early to our house. Grandma and Grandpa got Miss Clara a high chair for Christmas. We were worried she might not like to sit in it, but as you can see...she was more than happy to try out her new seat.

She liked it so much she thought she'd eat it. Who needs food anyway! :)

Gotta love the river of drool...

Clara helped Will put the chair together.

She couldn't even make it through that without trying to eat it!

Thanksgiving at Sea Ranch

This year for Thanksgiving my parents rented a great house on the coast at Sea Ranch. We took Clara and met my mom, dad, and Uncle Mike up there for a few days of good food, family and fun!

The town of Gualala hosted a Christmas parade. There were plenty of lights for Clara to stare at. She even saw Santa for the first time!

Clara and the boys relaxing by the fire at the lodge.

My mom took Clara outside to see the family of deer but she seemed more interested in staring at the ground.

It's been quite a while since I have posted, so here's a quick recap of what we've been up to...
My grandpa celebrated his 80th birthday in November.
Watching Sunday football with dad...sports gear and all. Go Niners!!!

I turned 31 at the beginning of the month. I got a girls night out while Will watched the baby. We celebrated my birthday and Sarah's too since we are only 6 days apart.

Later that week, Will surprised me with an amazing dinner out. We went up to Greystone at the CIA and had one of our top 5 dinners ever!

"Auntie" Jennie watched the little one for us. They had fun together even though Clara was still in her phase of not wanting to go to bed! :)

Halloween

What exactly do you do with a newborn on Halloween? It's not like she can go door to door trick-or-treating. Our solution...drive to people's houses so they can see Clara in her very cute but funny costume.

Our little "sweet pea" was such a good sport. She smiled the whole time even as we tortured her by shoving her in this costume 5 or 6 different times.
